$ulo Bee, MFA

Through their creative practice, $UL0 BEE builds an alternate reality called $P4RKL3 FiLTH CL0UD NiNE that is filled with work that responds to traumatic experiences and the exploration of their gender identity. As a nonbinary individual, they create work that unapologetically challenges the role of contemporary society in their alternate reality and how it is interpreted personally and publicly. Material exploration and experimentation builds the foundation for their work that is lush with complex fabrication and alternative materials. Color is a focal point, often in bright, bold, and neon palettes that reference candy wrappers, lottery tickets, and other discarded treasures they find on the streets.
